The Celtics narrowly lost against the Jazz (117-118). With 5 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter, Grant Williams got the ball and attempted to score from under the basket but was blocked by Walker Kessler.
In such situations usually the players are looking for a star to take a potential game-winner. However, Williams decided to take the shot himself instead of passing it out to Jayson Tatum.
But the Celtics superstar is not frustrated that he did not get the ball in the final play. He says that he has no ego and was okay with Williams taking the shot.
“I ain’t got no ego, I’m just trying to win,” Tatum said, per ClutchPoints. “Joe [Mazulla] can draw up a play for me, but there’s other options… I’m not mad that Grant [Williams] took that shot & didn’t pass it to me. It’s basketball.”
